U18 HL WOODSTOCK TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS
The Norfolk Hericanes U18HL team celebrated victory at the Woodstock Roar Tournament this past weekend.

Competing against a diverse field of teams, the Hericanes showcased exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination throughout the tournament. Their journey to the championship began with a series of impressive victories in the preliminary rounds against Kincardine and Wilmont, culminating in a hard-fought round robin match against the Upper Maitland Mustangs. Despite best efforts the Hericanes came up short and had to settle for 2nd in the RR, setting up for a Hericanes - Mustangs rematch in the championship game.   In the championship game, the Hericanes were a different team. The match was tightly contested, with both teams trading chances and displaying their defensive prowess. With just minutes remaining in the third period and the score tied at 0-0, Norfolk's power play goal proved to be the decider.     Head Coach Marty Jefferson praised his team's effort and resilience throughout the tournament. "These young ladies showed incredible heart, especially in the final. Their ability to stay focused under pressure was remarkable. This win will be a significant boost for us as we move forward in the season."   The Norfolk Hericanes U18HL team will now look to carry this momentum into the rest of their season, building on their success and aiming for further accolades in the months to come. Fans and supporters are already buzzing with excitement, eager to see what the future holds for this talented group of young athletes.
